Happy Thursday from Hatfield Elementary,

Instead of the normal Friday update, this one is coming a day early as a reminder that tomorrow, April 2nd, is a half day. Dismissal from Hatfield Elementary will be at 10:30.

Please remember that beginning next week our school day will run from 7:30 until 2:00. Drop-off time in the morning will remain the same, with doors opening at 7:25 and closing at 7:35. The pick-up line will start rolling at about 1:50, and go until 2:05. Please remember that students getting picked up should get picked up at the exit where the youngest child in the group exits. This may be a change for some of our students who have siblings in Kindergarten.

Notifications to everyone who requested to ride the bus went out today. Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey and let us clarify our lists. If you believe your child will be riding the bus after April 5th, but have not received an email with details, please contact the school.

Pre-school registration closes tomorrow, with the lottery happening on Monday at 9:30. If you need to register your child for preschool, please complete this form and get it to the school ASAP if you have not done so yet.

As welcome back in person, we would love to continue our percussion lessons in grades 3-6 General Music. To that end, if you have round five-gallon buckets you do not need, and would consider donating them to our music program, we would be grateful! You can drop them right off at the front office.

As we head into our fully in-person model, we are in need of substitute teachers! If you are interested in becoming a valuable part of our team, connecting with kids, and making a difference, please contact Riley Malinowskiin the Superintendent’s Office. rmalinowski@hatfieldps.net. We look forward to hearing from you!

Lastly, we have GREAT NEWS! On Tuesday, the School Committee approved an afterschool program partnership with the Collaborative for Educational Services. They will be running a program hopefully starting the week after April Break that will run after school until 5:30. Please see the pre-registration form here for more information and to pre-register your child.

Let’s help UMass College of Nursing Students in their efforts to raise awareness, educate the community and help local families in need!!

UMass College of Nursing Students are collaborating with It Takes a Village (The Village Closet) located in Huntington, MA and the Amherst Survival Center. The Village Closet provides resources to families in need from any location and any financial background. They go above and beyond to do their part so let’s do ours to help!!

Consider donating to the Diaper Drive online for contactless donations. Donations will also be accepted in person and can be left in the lobby of the police station or handed to an officer on duty. The bigger sizes (4,5,6,7 and pull-ups) are of greatest need, however all donations are appreciated!!

Diapers are the biggest need in surrounding communities but any way you can help is appreciated! If you have half used packages of diapers that your little one grew out of... we will take them! If you have clothes or items you’ve been meaning to part with but don’t want to throw them away... we will collect those too or you can always deliver directly to The Village Closet to help make a difference!!

Sanitary products are also needed by many. Monetary donations are also an option and will be used to purchase diapers! The Diaper Drive will be running through April 30th!
