Happy Friday from Hatfield Elementary School

A large document with quite a bit of information was shared in an email last week. Here it is again for your reference. It has a lot of specific details about our return to full-day school, 5 days per week on April 5th. Please read it carefully.

Our staff has been hard at work preparing schedules, redesigning classrooms, and shifting models and mindsets as we prepare for our return. Thanks to them for continuing to roll with the challenges and trials of this year. We are all very excited to see more of our students.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our survey committing to the in-person or remote model. If you are planning for your child(ren) to ride the bus this spring, please complete this survey. Please do this even if they are already bus riders.

As we come back in person, we would love to continue our percussion lessons in grades 3-6 General Music. To that end, if you have round five-gallon buckets you do not need, and would consider donating them to our music program, we would be grateful! You can drop them right off at the front office.

As we head into our fully in-person model, we are in need of substitute teachers! If you are interested in becoming a valuable part of our team, connecting with kids, and making a difference, please contact Riley Malinowskiin the Superintendent’s Office. rmalinowski@hatfieldps.net. We look forward to hearing from you!

One important element of our shift to in-person is the requirement of attendance. If your child is participating in the in-person model, it is expected that he/she/they will be present in-person every day. Unless there is a recommendation from the school nurse, or the local BOH/covid coordinator that a student should pivot to remote learning for a covid-related reason, a short-term shift from in-person to remote wouldn’t be permitted and would count as an absence. Work would be made up upon the student’s return as in the past.

Our writers have been hard at work this year and have been featured 32 times in the Hampshire Daily Gazette! Keep on writing!

Lastly, report cards went home today! Please make sure to check your child’s backpack for his/her/their report card.
