Hatfield Public Schools Closed until April 6, 2020

To The Hatfield School Community,

Per order of the Governor of Massachusetts, all public and private K-12 schools in Massachusetts are closed until April 6, 2020. Teachers will be preparing enrichment activities for students to work on during the time school is closed. These will be optional activities that allow students to practice and apply previously learned materials. Some students at the higher levels may be assigned additional homework to complete over the closure. On Monday and Tuesday, faculty will be working to develop the materials and resources they plan to share with the students. Materials will be shared sometime on Wednesday, March 18, if not sooner. Most work will be accessed through Google Classroom and/or by email.  Packets of work for students in the younger grades will be available for pick up at the back of the elementary school. Parents will be notified of both the times that packets will be available to be picked up, as well as, the method of pick up.

During the time of closure, the use of the school building and grounds will be restricted to authorized personal only.  Parents and students will be notified of any upcoming events that are either canceled or rescheduled to a later date. Updates regarding spring sports will be also be shared with parents and students as they become known.

Parents of students on IEP will be contacted by the special education office regarding the rescheduling of meetings and possible compensatory services

The School District will continue to keep parents/guardians, and students updated, as information is shared with us by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Public Health, and the Hatfield Board of Health.

Please continue to practice social distancing and limit contact with others.

Sincerely,

John F. Robert
