Hatfield Elementary School Seeks Applicants for Principal to Start July 1, 2020

Dear Hatfield School Community,

The Hatfield Public School District is in search of a new elementary school principal to oversee the Hatfield Elementary School starting on July 1, 2020. Five to seven candidates will be chosen for initial interviews by a hiring committee facilitated by Mr. Tim Luce, the Interim Elementary Principal. The Hiring Committee consists of one member of the School Committee, three teachers, three parents, one paraprofessional, one community member, and the Administrative Assistant to the Principal. Input will be sought from parents/guardians and staff regarding characteristics they would like to see in a new principal. Initial interviews will take place in early March. Two to three finalists will then be selected. The Hiring Committee will conduct site visits, invite each candidate to spend a day at the Hatfield Elementary School, and hold a public interview for each candidate. Staff members and those attending the public interviews of finalists will have an opportunity to provide input to the Hiring Committee. The Hiring Committee will then make recommendations to the Superintendent who will then make a final decision in early April. The timeline for the hiring of the new principal is being planned so as to also allow the new superintendent to provide input into the selection of the new principal.  Interested applicants are asked to apply on "School Spring". Applications are being accepted until February 21, 2020.
